What's the trick to unclogging a drain in a double vanity sink?

Our sink is CLOGGED in our insincere vanity bathroom. We put the snake through the pipes under one sink & it comes out the other side. It's hard to divert the snake through the "Y" where the sinks put in order to where the clog is? Any tips?

Try weighting the end of the meander down so the when it gets to the piece of drain called the cross (where the two drains meet and drop down) it will go down in lieu of of straight across. Just wire several lead sinkers to the snake behind its head and you should be set to go. Otherwise I would try to run water until it backs up in the sink then have a helper keep the other sink stopped securely while you dive the other side. Also the stopper assembly will hold lots of matted hair so if you take the traps off the sink it's worth reaching up into the tailpiece to vacuum it out as well.

you could get it from the roof air-hole right above the sinks or it may have a cleanout on the opposite side of the wall or under the house.

In place was a free sink vanity, now a double sink vanity is in place. Water and a single drain pipe is already there.

there are two types of ebb kits for a double bowl sink. it depends where your drain hole is as to which kit will be best. The hook up lines should be the same, because the faucet should not move
