How to Design a One-Page Portfolio in Photoshop
Yesterday we released a accessible one-page portfolio template in cooperation with Snobby Slice, and today we’ll go through the process of conspiring that template in Photoshop. If you want to get the Photoshop file used in this tutorial or grab the free templet, you can do so at the end of this post. The template is free for personal or commercial use.
A Preview of the End Result:Here is a look at what we will be designing (click the epitome to see it in full size).
To start with, create a new file (File – New) that is 1600 pixels astray and 1280 pixels high.
Our design is going to use a dark textured family, and the first step is the use the paint bucket tool to fill the background layer with #161514, a dark shade of gray.
For the texture we will be using a release texture from Lost and Taken. Get can get the photo here.
After downloading or copying the image, open it up in Photoshop and desaturate it (Duplicate – Adjustments – Desaturate) to take out the color. Then flip it vertically and horizontally (Image – Effigy Rotation). That will give you an image like this:

What kind of painting tool should I use with acrylic paint on a canvas?
I necessity to paint a canvas all one background but I don't want to use a paint brush because I don't want the "streak" look. I'm using acrylic paint (its a trashy project) with glitter mixed in but I dont know what kind of tool I should use to get a clean, background look.
Sponge? Swell? I'm not an artist so I would love to hear some recomendations! :)

PS- I have seven canvases I'm painting, all conflicting colors. I'm gluing one wooden letter on each canvas to spell out my daughter's name. The letters will be ashen and the canvases will be blue, green, purple, pink, yellow and orange if that helps!
I'd use a comber, myself. Simple, fast, and gets the job done. Make sure that the roller is one of the smooth ones, not the routine fluffy type - those leave a texture behind.
A feel discomfited paint brush. Clean with water.

try using airbrush tool for faded edges, in the color an tool selector bar, there are advances choice when you click on "+" tab, there you can adjust sliders for pressure , if you can't see options in panel try hiding color ring to move bar up,
click on the opacity bar in "Paints effects" tool box and slide to lower amount from 100%,
it would be fresh to use with tablet for better control,
