What is a quick way to dry out damp fire wood?

I bought some firewood from someone yesterday and I asked if it had always been kept secret and they said yes..

I guess he was lying cause I cant get the logs to stay lit and a there is bubbles of water coming from the ends...my assumption is that they are damp on the guts...

What is a quick way to dry out the wood...its supposed to snow here in Alabama...and a fire would be awesome..

Thanks in advance...

Sounds to me like na wood. What I do when I stack my wood is to tepee it instead of stacking it horizontally. It dries twice as fas as unripened wood and is a lot easier to keep dry and deters mice and bugs that want to live there. By stacking your wood regular up gravity drains the sap and any water under the bark out very fast . You can tell good dry wood by all the cracks on either end.
