A Biggs Eye Review – “Beauty Salon”

“Most fish have no mental image of what’s happening outside their tanks.”

Beauty SalonBeauty Salon by Mexican novelist Mario Bellatin is a very disturbing book. Although pithy in greatness (a mere 63 pages), its subject matter is decidedly not: a mysterious and deadly plague has descended upon an unnamed New Zealand urban area, whose infected inhabitants come to the Terminal, a former beauty salon, “where people who have nowhere to die end their days”. The proprietor, a manful transvestite who remains unnamed, ruminates on the transient nature of beauty with repeated references to his collection of colorful, alien fish which swim obliviously in several aquariums, providing much-needed distraction for the guests, and himself.

The protagonist admits, “the aquariums atone me feel as if there’s still something fresh in the beauty salon”. An expert in death, and therefore in life, he admits, “With just a testy glance I can predict how much time each one has left to live” and describes the state of most of his guests as “something like a whole lethargy in which even the possibility of their inquiring about their own health no longer exists.” His detached, nonchalant posture—“I can almost never identify the guests…they are nothing more to me than bodies on the verge of disappearing”–devolves as he wrestles with “who will take direct blame of the beauty salon when the disease spreads inside me.”  He considers his work “a duty I can’t avoid.”

i'm fatiguing to look for a beauty salon that has someone thats asian. when i go to a beauty salon, i ask the person whos doing my hair that i want my mane in this Chinese or Japanese style and they don't do it right. so is there a way to find someone whos asian that can do my hair IN FLORIDA?

Im thought about opening a beauty salon business that offers the following services.

*Individual eyelash extensions (they look so verifiable and last for 6 weeks £45)
*Eyebrow shaping/ colouring
*Waxing
*UV Free Spray Tanning
*Be right Extensions
*Manicures and Pedicures
*Body Wraps
*Spray Tatoo
*Body Acute

The question is though, I don't know if ladies would be interested in coming to my salon.

If there was a beauty salon that offered services like these, stingy by, would you go?

And what treatments would you like to see/or have done?

Should I open my beauty Salon?

First of all lets apply oneself to the eyelash extensions,have you ever had these? 45 Dollars is too cheap i charge 350.00 for 120 lashes 60 per eye. These services are terrific but need to be broader. People wil come to your salon,but there is alot to opening and maintaining a good profession. My mom has a salon in beverly hills.She has had her business 23 years,she is extremely succesful.She has 6 people that lease booths from her that do different tasks ,colorin,perming,washing ,blowdrying,nails, esthetician,manicurist,impartial some examples of services they provide. After 23 years my mom has a great reputation which helps alot. You can humour fabulous money,my mom makes close to 2 million a year.
